Welcome SVIN members

I have created this blog so that the fellows and residents can communicate and discuss what interests us. Where the latest jobs are? What new device is coming out? Need advice from other fellows on how to file patents. How did that last meeting go? Or, how to treat this aneurysm.

You can discuss any and all issues on this blog.

  1. Question re: interventional neurology fellowships: Realistically, what are the odds of getting a seat in a program? Everyone says encouraging things, but do neurology applicants actually have a statistically significant chance of being accepted when compared to the neurosurg and rads applicants? Is there any quantitative data out there regarding neurology applicants and the number accepted to programs? Any info would be much appreciated.

  2. I don't know about quantitative data and statistical significance but I do know I had many interviews at programs that weren't neurology run. I am also doing my fellowship at a traditionally neurosurgery program. There are more neurology programs coming out which obviously a neurologist would have a better chance. I think you'll see less radiologists doing intervention because of stroke call.
